MakerDAO and Klaytn launch KDAI

Recently a new token surreptitiously launched on the Klaytn network from MakerDAO called Klaytn Dai (KDAI). KDAI is now a public-facing release from Klaytn and MakerDAO. This represents the first commercial collaboration between the two companies to launch a token.

The first transaction using KDAI was made 12 days ago according to Klaytnscope, the Klaytn block explorer.

KDAI also facilitates token swapping between the Ethereum and Klaytn networks. Users can now currently swap DAI for KDAI and vice versa. Allowing interoperability between the two networks should aid in the adoption rate of KDAI and possibly even increase the amount of active wallets on the network.

The collaboration between Klaytn and MakerDAO will boost the accessibility of Klaytn to a global user base. Up to now, Klaytn has been mostly focused on Korean users and Korean council members. With the launch of KDAI and the recent addition of Worldpay to their governance council, Klaytn continues to show concerted efforts to appeal to a broader audience.
